The Fourth Sunday of Lent

Hello everyone

In times like these when the world seems to have gone mad and we are told that everything is changing, or has changed, I think it is good to find some things that are staying the same or at least not being cancelled.  One of these is remembering our Lent Liturgy.   I have attached the copy for this coming Sunday.  Our Lenten Cross is in the Link and will be lit up and the symbols for each week will be placed on it.  On Good Friday they will be taken off and on the Saturday the cross will be covered with chicken wire and placed outside the Church.  There will be buckets of flowers for people as they are passing to decorate the cross.

Please share in the Liturgy on Sunday evenings at 7.00pm.  Join with lots of other Christians in lighting a candle (electronic ones would be best) and placing it in your window.  If you don’t have access to a candle please ask Heather or Andrew to get one for you.  Below is a prayer which we can also say together at 7.00pm.  Lots of Christians of all denominations will also be lighting candles and praying so it will be a good sign of togetherness.

Following our Lent Liturgy read the verse below: –

“The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (NIV)

We pray together

In our going out and coming in,

our rising and sleeping,

watch over us,

keep us from harm.

In summer sun and winter rain,

our joyfulness and sorrow

watch over us,

keep us from harm.

In the darkness and in lighter days

our fears and comfort,

watch over us,

keep us from harm.

This day, and all days. Amen.

May God keep you safe in these difficult times.  Let us all pray for one and a time when we can meet again without restrictions

God bless.

Heather, Andrew and Donald
